“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate, is strength undefeatable.” -Helen Keller
Today, I’m sharing a quote that has so much meaning for me. Helen Keller’s story is well known. After a fever left her blind and deaf as a very young child, she went on to live an amazing life that defied expectations. So, her words on courage have special meaning.
Maybe you’ve heard my story before? I suffered a life-changing injury that left me in a wheelchair. But ultimately, I found the courage to challenge my limitations. I want you to know that it’s POSSIBLE for you to overcome your limitations, too.
I want to share with you how you can challenge your fears and doubts, and have the courage you need to move forward each and every day. How? Part of what you need is courage. It will help you take all of the steps forward, past doubt, complacency, and fear.
Here are three ways to have courage every day:
Know that fear can harm you. Staying paralyzed by your fear is just as dangerous as the obstacle you’re facing.
Name your fears, and challenge them. What’s the worst that can happen? When we name our fears, we remove some of the anxiety of the unknown and take the first steps toward solving the problem.
Choose to take action. Know that even taking small steps can make a positive difference. When we choose to act, it can boost our courage by helping us to feel more capable of change. Small steps lead to large change.
Finally, know that you’re not alone! If you need support to face your fears and find courage to make change, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to help when you’re ready!
